From shallow and deep foundations to earth retentions and instrumentation, Strata has extensive experience in subsurface explorations for commercial developments in both rural and urban setting. Many of Chicagoland’s newest high rises and local attractions have been drilled by Strata - including the Chicago Riverwalk, Wrigley Field and the Obama Presidential Center - slated to break ground in 2019. Strata has also provided geotechnical services for many of our local universities and hospitals, including University of Illinois, Northwestern, Northern Illinois University, and Rush University Medical Center.
Strata is registered with a variety of compliance monitory agencies to allow us to work in industrial settings for clients like Exxon, Stepan, US Steel and Arcelor Mittal. We are compliant in BROWZ, AVETTA, ISNetworld and NCMS and maintain Three Rivers Manufacturing Association (TRMA) trained crews.
Strata is registered in SAM and has extensive experience working for the United States of Army Corps of Engineers. We recently completed a five year contract that included thirty-four delivery orders for the USACE. Notable projects include Chicago Locks, McCook Quarry and the St. Louis Area of Concern in Duluth, MN. Extensive work has also been completed at the Great Lakes Naval Station.
Strata has completed multiple drilling projects for major utilities including ComEd, People’s Gas, Chicago Department of Water Management, Exelon, and We Energies. Subsurface exploration services have been completed for projects ranging from transmission lines to pipeline services, and also include environmental testing for former MGP and other remediation sites.
